It’s all over the news. Americans protesting against the ground zero mosque in Manhattan.
The recent events made me contemplate Americans and how they respond to things, which made me conclude that there are 3 types of Americans. The haters, the idiots and the real.
The haters are a bunch of educated Americans who made up their mind years ago. They hate Islam. Actually not only that, those folks also hate colored people, they hate homosexuals, they despise poor people .. they have an agenda, they made up their mind about various issues long time ago. They’re extremely obstinate and responding to their fallacies is a waste of time.
The idiots are many, and they are uneducated Americans who do not have an agenda. They’ve been Foxed up, they follow the media left and right like sheep follow their Sheppard.
for the above I would like to say 3 things:
1-The mosque is being built 2 blocks away from ground zero
2-There were Muslims in the world trade center when the crime against humanity – September 11- took place
3-The imam leading the project, who you accuse of having ties to terrorist groups, worked extensively with the FBI in the war on terror.
The real. The real Americans are a huge group of educated and ordinary people who understand their country’s constitution, believe in freedom, and know that associating all Muslims with terrorism, all blacks with crime, or all Mexicans with laziness has no grounds whatsoever.
I came across a video today of a candid camera clip filmed by ABC news. In summary, a Muslim woman (acting) enters a shop in Texas to buy stuff. The man working in the shop (also acting) refuses to sell her stuff because she is a Muslim, he insults her heavily in front of people. Watch it and see the reactions of people in the shop. Some gave him a thumb up, others gave him a middle finger, and some just ignored the situation.
I’m really not sure what the objective of my blog is. Maybe I’m just telling you that not all Americans are the same. I’m also telling you that Muslims in the states have the right to build mosques wherever they want. Like Jon Stewart said, there is a mosque in the Pentagon for God’s sake!

The Victory Mosque affair has seriously damaged the image of The Religion of Peace™ in the eyes of ordinary Americans. We can consequently expect a lavish petrodollar-funded campaign of taqiyya (lying about Islam to the infidels) in the MSM, in an attempt to lull the public back to sleep.

Hello trencherbone. I'm very well aware of Taqiyya and what it means.
First of all, it's Tuqiah, not Taqiyya. second, it's an act mainly from the Shia school of thought, not the Sunni.
Now the exact definition is to hide faith, in order to secure one self. which is pretty close to what you defined it from a literal point of view. let me put this in context. This is an act that could take place under a specific condition only, it's not a "way of life". for example, I enter a place full of non Muslims and I sense that they may hurt me, so it's safer for me to hide the fact that I'm a muslim in order to save my self.
Al Tuqia is NOT a way of life. It's not common sense that 1.6 billion muslims around the world live by Tuqia, hiding their faith for the sake of a propaganda.
Muslim scholars from around the world have always welcomed debates and actively opened discussions about our faith and the interpretations of our religion. There is no "Tuqia" about that. Many of the things you have in mind are out of context.
There are Muslims who have non-muslim friends and even family, they live together and love each other, there is no room for hiding anything. I'm positive that you haven't had a muslim friend in your life. (friend, not some one you ran into during college)
Let me tell you this, and I hope one day you believe me. I, and many other muslims, and our religion, is AGAINST what happened in September 11. We are against killing the innocent. We are the trend, we are the majority. and those muslims who live in America, just want to live in peace, and enjoy the great benefits America offers them. They are not hiding anything, and they don't want to hurt any one,

I lived in the US for few years. And I was there during the Sept11 attack, in Washington, D.C.
You're pretty much right. They fall under these 3 categories. But thank god from my experience, I mostly met what you called 'the real'.
There were few idiots and haters, but they are a plague in every nation, not only the US.
There is also the 'Educated Idiots' if I may add.

Taqiya or taqiyyah...there are multiple ways to spell transliterated words... is the act of hiding one's faith if one is endangered or threatened. There's nothing more to it.
That being said, there are two ways of looking at taqiya. First, if you're scared of being killed and all you have to do is say some words with your tongue to keep yourself alive, there's nothing wrong with doing so, because in your heart you know it's not true.
On the other hand, Muslims believe that God is fully in control of all times...and so we'll only be injured or killed if He wills it. We also believe that there's an afterlife, and that this life is just a test. So taking that into consideration, if someone were to threaten my life, it would be perfectly acceptable to choose not to practice taqiya...because whatever happens, it's because of God's will. So who are we to fight His will...?
